To unite Catholic Women’s organizations and individual Catholic women in the state of Utah. Diocese of Salt Lake City, in purpose, through support, empowerment, and education in the areas of spirituality, leadership, and service that responds with Christian values in the church society.

CCW Woman
of the Year:
Christy Young
Please join the members of CCW in congratulating Christy Young as this year’s Woman of the
Year for our Parish. Christy will be recognized at the annual Diocesan CCW convention in Salt
Lake City on April 27, 2024.
Christy has been a member of our Parish for 48 years. She has been married to her husband
Lovel for 40 years and together they share 3 children, 8 grandchildren and one Angel Baby.
Currently Christy serves as our Director of Religious Education, a member of Parish Council and
an active member of CCW and Parish Events Committee. In the past she has also served as our
Parish Secretary, a member of Finance Committee and for 5 years decorated the church each
week with beautiful flowers.
Christy helped last year with the Special Needs Rodeo and in February 2024 helped with filling
backpacks with food and personal items that were shipped to those serving in the military.
With great passion, Christy also helps with the non-profit Blowishes for Emily that her family
created in memory of her niece that passed away from cancer at the age of 16.

Únase a los miembros de CCW para felicitar a Christy Young como la Mujer del Año de este año.
Año para nuestra Parroquia. Christy será reconocida en la convención anual Diocesana CCW en Salt
Lake City el 27 de abril de 2024.
Christy ha sido miembra de nuestra parroquia durante 48 años. Ha estado casada con su marido.
Lovel desde hace 40 años y juntos comparten 3 hijos, 8 nietos y un Angel Baby.
Actualmente Christy se desempeña como nuestra Directora de Educación Religiosa, miembro del Consejo Parroquial y miembra activa de CCW y del Comité de Eventos Parroquiales. En el pasado ella también sirvió como nuestra Secretaria Parroquial, miembra del Comité de Finanzas y durante 5 años condecoró la iglesia cada Semana con hermosas flores.
Christy ayudó el año pasado con el Rodeo de Necesidades Especiales y en febrero de 2024 ayudó a llenar mochilas con comida y artículos personales que eran enviadas a quienes prestaban servicio en el ejército.
Con gran pasión, Christy también ayuda con la organización sin fines de lucro Blowishes for Emily que su familia creado en memoria de su sobrina que falleció de cáncer a la edad de 16 años.

Leylahni
Munguia Ayon
Leylahni Munguia Ayon received the Golden Rose Award at the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women convention in Salt Lake City on April 27, 2024. Leylahni is the daughter of Gaspar and Leonor Munguia Ayon
The Golden Rose Award was created to recognize the faith and works of young women in our Diocese. Leylahni was nominated by the CCW members of St. James the Greater Parish for her enthusiasm and dedication to God, His Church, and to her family.
Leylahni shows by all her work, and activities in our parish, school and community that she is led by the Holy Spirit to go above and beyond in all she does. She has a strong commitment to her Catholic faith and is an excellent example of service to one’s parish. Leylayni serves as a lector, eucharistic minister, cantor, music director, and was recently hired as our Parish secretary. She is a true example of living the Gospel as Jesus intended us to do; to love one another and serve our neighbor.
Leylahni congratulations on being selected as this year’s recipient of the Golden Rose Award and may you continue to live out the Gospel values and be an example to others that God has chosen you to be. Thank you for your service to your parish.
May our Blessed Mother continue to guide Leylahni as well as the other nominees for this year’s award
Leylahni Munguia Ayón recibió el Premio Rosa de Oro en la convención del Consejo Diocesano de Mujeres Católicas en Salt Lake City el 27 de abril de 2024. Leylahni es hija de Gaspar y Leonor Munguia Ayón.
El Premio Golden Rose fue creado para reconocer la fe y el trabajo de las mujeres jóvenes de nuestra Diócesis. Leylahni fue nominada por los miembros de CCW de la parroquia St. James the Greater por su entusiasmo y dedicación a Dios, Su Iglesia y su familia.
Leylahni demuestra con todo su trabajo y actividades en nuestra parroquia, escuela y comunidad que el Espíritu Santo la guía a ir más allá en todo lo que hace. Tiene un fuerte compromiso con su fe católica y es un excelente ejemplo de servicio a la parroquia. Leylayni se desempeña como lectora, ministra eucarística, cantora, directora musical y recientemente fue contratada como nuestra secretaria parroquial. Ella es un verdadero ejemplo de vivir el Evangelio como Jesús quiso que lo hiciéramos; amarnos unos a otros y servir a nuestro prójimo.
Leylahni, felicidades por haber sido seleccionada como ganadora del Premio Rosa de Oro de este año y que continúes viviendo los valores del Evangelio y seas un ejemplo para los demás de lo que Dios te ha elegido. Gracias por su servicio a su parroquia.
Que nuestra Santísima Madre continúe guiando a Leylahni y a los demás nominados al premio de este año.
